Reid head of the associated Island/Def Jam label group and Reid has signed her to a record deal. Jessie James' first album was titled Jessie James and released in August 2009, was her own debut. Jessie James was reasonably successful and included Wanted a single that brushed into the Top 40 of the singles charts. Decker was always considered known as a "country" performer, but her latest album was produced and promoted to a mass market. Following two singles from the album stiffed Decker confronted label executives to have more control over her music, and her subsequent track Boys in the Summer was a more country-oriented release. Decker released her second album under two names: Sweet American Dreams or Daughter of a Gypsy. Mercury decided to put it back on the shelf after the first three singles failed to make it onto the country charts. Decker then was let out of the contract.
