April Lockhart

April Lockhart, born in 1995 on the 4th day of July, started taking guitar and piano lessons at age seven. Her interest in creating songs was sparked. When she was 12 years old, April composed her first single Different. When she was 14 April was devoted for a long period of time to making song lyrics and working on the music she was playing. Soon after she began taking trips to write with her father in NY in New York and LA. April began to include various other topics relevant to the"Take my Hand song for some close friends, like peer pressure problems and suicides among teenagers. Lockhart is a lifestyle and beauty influencer with a growing following. She works with popular brand Ilia in partnership, as well as being a lifestyle expert. She has a disability that is a component of her persona, however it's not the entire picture. Lockhart's Instagram profile doesn't hide her disability but doesn't focus solely on it. What message is it trying to convey? The message? That we each contain multitudes, that our physical and identity self aren't as they appear. Lockhart tells Lockhart via video "I don't think that will define me. I don't intend to influence disability because I have so much more to offer." And it doesn't affect my everyday life. I go about everything normally and I've found my own way to adjust the things. It's a big aspect of my existence, so it is important that we talk about the subject. Lockhart is a huge source of inspiration for her female friends with regards to acceptance of oneself. Yet, she confesses that she has had periods when she felt uncomfortable with her appearance as well as wearing clothes with arms. She wears whatever she wants and is proud to post pictures of herself wearing the clothes she picks out on social platforms. What makes self-love so appealing to her is that it's not an end destination. This is, however, common for anyone who has insecurities. People you associate yourself with that truly understand you and see inside your soul are the most important people to help you remember what you're worried about.
